AllVignette is an independent online service. We are not ASFINAG or any other national toll operator. The service fee is included in the price shown. We purchase the official e-vignette from the national operator and send confirmation to your email.

Who is the 1-day e-Matrica for?

Drivers who only need Hungary for a few hours or one calendar day — border crossings or a single M-road detour.

National D1 covers all tolled motorways. County-only products are cheaper but not valid outside that county.

When does it start?

Validity begins on the start date you select at checkout, for the calendar day rules of the Hungarian product.

If you are already on a tolled road, use the 60-minute grace window to buy immediately.

What it covers

The full national tolled motorway network for passenger vehicles in category D1.

Same national coverage as longer periods — only the duration differs.

What is not included

County vignettes do not replace national coverage on transit routes crossing counties.

Vehicles above D1 limits need D2 products — choose the correct category at checkout.

FAQ — Hungary 1-day e-Matrica

Do I need an e-matrica for Hungarian motorways?

Yes. All vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes (category D1) need a valid e-matrica for motorways and expressways. Hungary uses a fully digital system — no physical sticker. Your license plate is registered in a central database.

What happens if I drive without an e-matrica in Hungary?

Base penalty: HUF 27,790 (≈€73). If unpaid for over 60 days, it escalates to HUF 95,730 (≈€250). Multiple cameras across the motorway can each trigger a separate fine, so the total can grow quickly.

Are motorcycles exempt in Hungary?

Motorcycles are charged under the D1 category but some routes waive them in practice. The national D1 vignette covers them; there is no separate motorcycle category.

How long is the 10-day vignette valid?

The weekly (10-day) vignette is valid from the start date you choose plus 9 more calendar days, ending at 23:59 on the 10th day.

Is there a grace period if I forget to buy the vignette?

Yes — you have 60 minutes after entering the motorway to purchase an e-matrica and avoid a fine. After 60 minutes, automatic cameras trigger penalties.

Does the vignette cover all Hungarian motorways?

The national D1 vignette covers every tolled motorway in Hungary. There are also cheaper county-level (megye) vignettes if you only travel within one region — but for transit trips, the national version is required.
